Brittany + Matthew’s Speedy Hartwood Acres Engagement

Last night I met with Brittany and Matthew at Hartwood Acres in the Fox Chapel area. Our session scheduled for two hours but had to be cut a bit short because they were stuck in the insane traffic that U2 caused throughout all of Pittsburgh last night. Although we were racing to beat the sunset, I had an absolutely blast working with Brittany and Matt. They have such a great sense of humor, so much love radiating from them, serious tree-climbing skills, and they are absolutely fearless. No matter the strange ways I asked them to pose or the awkward bushes I asked them to crawl into (this happened more than once) – they were more than happy to do it! I am so looking forward to their wedding next summer!

Just a few from the session:

Location Scout: Hartwood Acres

About once every two weeks my wonderful boyfriend and I will venture off with a few rolls of film and our 35mm’s in hand to scout for fantastic future portrait spots. Although this was not our first time – last week we visited Hartwood Acres just off of Saxonburg Blvd in the Fox Chapel area of Pittsburgh. (Hartwood Acres is most known for it’s yearly Festival of Lights around Christmastime.)

This is one of my all time favorite spots for portraits, engagement shoots and everything in between. The landscaping is amazing and somehow the lighting always seems to be perfect. If you’re having trouble picking a spot for your portraits, take a look at Hartwood Acres.

Here are a few of my favorite shots from the evening.
