Frequntly Asked Questions

F.A.Q.

01.

Will you photograph weddings outside of Pittsburgh?

Absolutely! I frequently travel outside of Pennsylvania to photograph weddings, elopements, and portrait sessions.

02.

How do you photograph each wedding day?

Excluding any posed family portraits, the day will be photographed candidly. As an artistic documentary wedding photographer, my goal is to not intrude in any aspect of the wedding day and instead pay close attention to the little moments that unfold. About 20 days before your big day, I'll send along a questionnaire to be filled out which will provide me with the information needed to create a really solid and specific photography timeline. With this timeline, I'll always be prepared in the right place, at the right time, with the right gear needed for the next event of the day. Knowing that I'm fully prepared for each part of the day allows me to focus all of my attention on the intimate and special interactions between you, your new spouse, your friends, and family.

03.

Have you photographed at our venue before?

Having not photographed at a venue before makes it all the more exciting! Seeing a beautiful pocket of light for the first time in your ceremony space or reception area excites me. Not knowing exactly what to expect around each corner keeps me inspired and pushes my creativity. As a documentary wedding photographer, I've found that I work best on my toes, when I'm in a fresh and exciting place, and when I don't know what's around the corner or down the hall. For this reason, I accept only 2-3 total weddings at each venue, with the exception of a small handful of venues that continue to inspire me each time I visit.

04.

What if we're not very comfortable in front of the camera?

As someone who isn't very comfortable in front of the lens, I photograph others the way I would want to be photographed. The goal is to keep it as comfortable and casual as possible. When it comes to your intimate (couple only) portraits - I'll direct you into a space or a pose with a wonderful backdrop or lovely lighting, then use little tricks to pull you out of your head and into the emotions of the moment before you: you're standing face to face with the person who comforts you most, who you love with your whole heart. You'll be surprised by how quickly you'll forget I'm there!

05.

When will we see our images?

Because each final delivered image is hand edited for color and contrast, you will receive an email with a link to your full and complete wedding gallery within 6 to 8 weeks - often sooner!

06.

How can we book you?

After you and your fiance have decided which package is best for you, a signed agreement and a retainer of 35% are due to reserve your date on the calendar.
